ACTIVITIES

Boat Safari

Taking a boat on the Rapti river from the hotel, glide peacefully downstream viewing a wide variety of aquatic birds. Our knowledgeable guide will point out all the exciting wildlife as you float by. Rhinos sunning themselves on the banks or wading in the river; Gharial crocodiles soaking up sun and deer peering through the trees on the bank. The trip culminates in a delicious riverside sunset with complimentary hot snacks. Or for the early morning boat trip, a hot breakfast is cooked up on the bank.

Jungle Safari

Our boat takes you across the Rapti into the National Park where our 4 wheel jeep awaits you. As you drive around our secluded end of Chitwan National park, there are opportunities to spot a wide array of wildlife, including the elusive Royal Bengal Tiger if you are lucky. Half way through your tour, we will stop for breakfast or lunch and a sumptuous picnic spread is laid out for our esteemed guests. You can opt for a morning or afternoon tour or a full day which allows you to go further afield into the depths of the jungle.

Walking Safari

A walking safari is ideal for keen bird watchers and is the utmost opportunity to really immerse yourself in the jungle without the roar of a vehicle engine. Our trained and knowledgeable naturalist will ensure that your safari is safe but it is not recommended for small children to take the walking tours. You’ll walk 5-7 km for a half day tour.

Boat & Jeep Safari – FULL DAY

To experience it all, you can arrange for a combination boat and jeep safari trip in one full day. Start early morning and float down the Rapti river to the meeting point with the Narayani river. At this picturesque spot you’ll be served a delicious breakfast, after which you’ll continue by boat to Amaltari Ghat. After three and a half hours of boat safari, the jeep will await to take you deep into the dense forest. Lunch will be served in the middle of the jungle and you’ll be brought back by jeep by late afternoon. With the opportunity of going further afield you increase your chances of seeing some larger wildlife for a most memorable experience. This activity is subject to season and park permissions.

Tharu Cultural Walk

The Tharu are the local indigenous ethnic group in Chitwan. This is an opportunity to learn more about their fascinating culture and practices. You’ll see village life, traditional housing and go to the community run museum accompanied by a local guide and translator.
