Established in 1993 when our Chairman, Mr. Hari Prasad Paudel laid the foundations of The Barahi Pokhara in Lakeside, it’s the story of a family business finding success through hard work and high standards of service.
Mr. Paudel started his career as a school teacher after graduating with a degree in Sanskrit. A local Pokhareli boy, by the late 70s, he could see that Pokhara was a burgeoning hub for tourism as the base of many treks around the Annapurna region. He decided to venture into business and opened The Paradise Guest House in Pokhara in 1979.
The 10 room hotel, centrally located in Lakeside, flourished over the years as the popularity of Pokhara grew as a tourist destination. By the early 90s Mr. Paudel was ready to expand and in 1993, he started building The Barahi Pokhara using the original Paradise building as the main reception.
